2015: Best Humpback Whale Photos - maui-mike

This female (?) Humpback whale has rolled over onto her right side, exposing the tip of her left fluke (barely visible at the surface) and her very long (4 m) pectoral fin, which she waves gently as males in her competition pod struggle for a position to get closer to her. I've always thought that this "pec wave" is the cetacean equivalent of a "Hey Sailor!" greeting.
