Michael Garrison > The neighbor island of Moloka'i seen from the headlands near the Kahekili Highway, west Maui.
Michael Garrison > A nice view of the entire length of the neighboring island of Moloka'i. Near Shipwreck Beach on the north side of Lana'i.
Michael Garrison > On the beach at the site of the now-defunct Club Lana'i. Looking north toward Moloka'i. The small pier in the middle ground of the photo was used by a private ferry that ran between the club and Lahaina on Maui. My photos don't do this stretch of clean white sand justice: it's the completely deserted palm-lined beach every tourist in the tropics is hoping to find.
Michael Garrison > Lonely stretch of beach south of Ukumehame State Park in west Maui. The neighbor island of Moloka'i can be seen on the horizon under a towering bank of clouds.
Michael Garrison > The neighbor island of Moloka'i seen on a clear April morning from Paunau Beach Park, south of Lahaina. Early in the morning, before the prevailing winds pick up, is the best time for swimming, boogie boarding, and snorkeling along this and other leeward-side beaches of west Maui.
