This gallery includes images of fish and other marine life, insects, reptiles, and land mammals.
A Common House Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus), Hana, east Maui. A native of southeastern Asia. It is also known as the Pacific house gecko, the Asian house gecko, or simply, the house lizard. They can be seen climbing walls of houses and other buildings in search of insects attracted to porch lights, hence their name. They grow to a length of between three to six inches (about 7.5–15 cm), and live for about five years.
This gecko's camouflage coloration was so good that I had to bump-up the contrast of this image inside Photoshop quite a bit in order for him to be visible, even though my lens was fairly close to him.
